Getting the most out of your two-wheeler is one of the most chased-after things for every motorcycle rider! We do a lot of modifications and upgrades to our two-wheelers to get the maximum power out of the engine. And there are some extensively tried and tested techniques that you can do with your own motorcycle to eek the maximum out of it. Here 5 after most commonly applied technique to maximize two-wheeler performance, so let’s check them out!
1. Being Streamlined and Aerodynamic
The most fundamental thing that you can do to make your motorcycle deliver more performance is by becoming streamlined aerodynamic. While the motorcycle has been designed by the manufacturer to be aerodynamic already, you – the rider needs to become aerodynamic as well. Unfortunately, the human anatomy is not designed to be aerodynamic. Thankfully, there are things that you can do to reduce wind-drag on your body when you’re riding a motorcycle. The simplest way of doing that is to purchase an aerodynamic best quality premium branded motorcycle helmet that helps you cut through the wind easily. On top of that, you are also going to need other riding safety gears that reduce the wind drag. Get a motorcycle riding jacket that covers you entirely and reduces the turbulent effect of wind on the body which impacts the overall performance of the engine. Don’t wear baggy clothes that flap in the wind and catch air in between the folds which will impact the performance.
2. Engine Tune-Up
The second thing, that you might already have known and tried out is an engine tune-up. Most commuter motorcycles are made to give you optimum mileage and best value for money rather than outright performance. while it is not quite recommended to change the engine configuration to get more performance out of it, and we recommend going with a more powerful engine if you want more speed, but you can also tweak your existing commuter motorcycle to deliver more power. do not do the mistake of taking the engine yourself, and try to take the help of an experienced mechanic so that you know that you are not exceeding the limitations of what can be done with the engine. Sometimes, a simple sprocket change can do a world of good for the performance of your engine. talk to a trusted mechanic and find out what can be done.
3. Upgrading the Tires
This is one of those aspects that flies under the radar, and not many people bother to upgrade their tires for maximizing performance. having the right kind of tires on your motorcycle, and the right amount of air pressure inside the tire can be crucial in increasing or decreasing the performance of the motorcycle.
4. Upgrading air filter & exhaust
Combustion engine depends on an explosion to deliver the powerful stop that explosion happens every millisecond inside the engine which mixes fuel with air thereby creating the energy required to move the wheels. For that explosion to happen as efficiently as possible, you need the right type of air filters and good exhaust system to let out the wasted by-product of the process. If the air filters are not drawing in enough air (by air we mean oxygen for the explosion), then there will be a definite hit to the performance of the vehicle. Upgrade the filter in your motorcycle and consider getting a good exhaust system installed as well. This will radically increase the power of your motorcycle and you will feel it the moment you start riding it.
5. Control Chip Remapping
Last but not the least, you can also remap in the control chip in your motorcycle. Almost all modern motorcycles come with a small computer on board. This is known as electronic control chip, or an electronic control unit (ECU), which regulates the amount of fuel-air mixture for the combustion, in addition to a ton of other parameters required to deliver the best performance out of a motorcycle. If you know what you are doing, you can remap the ECU of the motorcycle, or have it remapped by the manufacturer themselves. There are also aftermarket technicians who can help you with that.
